Serena yells C’mon after hitting an unreturnable shot at the 2011 US Open and the umpire enforces the Hindrance Rule charging Serena with a code violation and eventual loss of point!
Kvitova’s yelping scream called ‘charming’ by Chris Evert at the Year End Championship in Istanbul; never a hindrance call for interference by the umpire who, by the way, also called Serena/Stosur final at US Open.
Blogger ‘The Tennis Chick” breaks it down in fine fashion. She writes..
“If it is not OK to scream after a point is over, then each time any player does it, she should be deducted a penalty point. Thus far, only Serena has faced this punishment. In fact, it’s becoming disheartening the way rules seem to be invented for her, particularly when she plays in her own country.”
