Serena and Venus Williams Win Doubles Match in Milan

As shown in the above photo during a press conference, it was a joyful experience for Venus and Serena during their time in Italy for the December 3rd Tennis Exhibition.   And yes, the fashion divas did manage a trip to Armani!  But their major stop was the tennis court!

It was big-time fun for Venus and Serena when they rallied back from a set down,  to win the doubles match against Francesca Schiavone and Flavia Pennetta 3-7, 8-6, 8-6.

The fun continued with the Italian tennis professionals showing off some special moves during warm ups.  Schiavone and Pennetta delighted the crowd as they danced to the music of Michael Jackson!

Just how popular are the Williams Sisters in Italy?  Answer, the Milan Tennis Exhibition enjoyed a sellout crowd of 11,000!

In the eagerly-anticipated doubles contest it was the Olympic champion Williams sisters — who have 20 Grand Slam singles titles between them, 12 doubles titles together and four mixed doubles titles, plus two doubles Olympic Gold medals — who came from a set down to win.

GREAT SINGLES PLAY FROM THE ITALIANS:  In singles however the sisters played tough but both fell to Schiavone on Saturday.  She defeated Venus 7-5, 7-3, then countered a strong comeback from little sister Serena to defeat her 7-3, 8-10, 8-6.  Flavia Pennetta also beat Venus 7-6, 7-2.  It was left to Serena to put a win in the singles category which she did defeating Pennetta 6-8, 7-3, 7-3.

It is truly wonderful to see Venus on the tennis court and looking quite the “Sexy Gal” in her stylish tennis dress!
